Types of Meetings

IAEVG has several types of meetings:

General Assemblies which take place every four years (the next will be in 2007). There are two characteristics of a General Assembly that differentiate it from a conference: a General Assembly of members for the purpose of formulating policy matters for the next four years; secondly for the election of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. The main proceedings of the General Assembly and of the professional program are translated simultaneously into the three official languages (English, French and German). Of course, the language of the host country is an official language of the congress. A Conference is organized by a national or regional association member of IAEVG, or by a government department.

Conferences take place at least once a year, and sometimes twice. Like congresses, conferences are organized by national or regional associations which are members of IAEVG.
